Introspection

For sometime I was working on an on-going Series that began from a personal experience that I had a couple of years ago with a discussion with a suicidal patient. I did not know exactly how I wanted to depict this series but after sometime and through numerous reworking, I had managed to get the imagery I needed for an illustrious approach. The Series deals loosely on the idea of the Intangible and Human Conscious;

This is not a series on portraits but this one at least began as a self-portrait and sort of evolved into something else. The guy did have my hair at one point in the drawing, but it just didn't feel right for me at the time. When you see the entire series, you should be able to feel the context.

Like most of my work, this came out differently than I thought.

Don't Go Out Today

It's interesting to see how superstitous people can become in the most trivial things without them realizing it. And there are many that believe in it in terms of how it can foreshadow one's destiny. It can get disturbing too at times. Who knows what can happen right? I mean yeah, something could happen to me right now as I'm typing this.

...But alas it's just me, typing away, anxious about how people will think of this illustration. You see I'm a man of practical worries, not superstitous ones. (I hope) But enough chit chat, here's something that was spawned off the idea.

Tomorrow I'm going to have a presentation of my work at the Bowery Poetry Club for Village Life at 3pm. Come out if you can.

Lip My Stocking

Bill Murray, the man himself.

While I was brainstorming awhile back, I was thinking of something a lot more elaborate that would somehow characterize his own filmography. However, I soon came to feel, and most may agree, that one connects much more to his more recent films. (the past 5-8 yrs)

It came out very different than I thought it would. The likeness unfortunately is not where I want it to be. But oh well, I have a lot of other things to work on. I may go back to it later on.

Grotesque

Hey everyone, the long interlude has officially ended. I have now successfully moved to New York City and currently residing in Brooklyn. It was great to explore the city, eat great food, meet artists and designers and to setup ample workspace to begin creating work. So to jumpstart that, here is a new illustration;

Scottish mythological/folklore creatures called the "Wizard Shackle." Apparently they're supposed to look like leeches that attack any living thing, including humans, that roam around the shallow waters.

I had a tough time dealing with inefficiencies for the past few days. I'm trying to figure out the best possible efficiency when it comes to my work. But anyway, here's the piece. Tell me what you guys think. (Because I don't know if I want to tell you what I think)

The Inauguration

Well now, it looks like the madness has begun. Welcome to my blog. I shall be updating this blog every week with work; whether it be new, old or just plain hackery. So to commemorate this wonderful occasion, I shall dedicate this first piece to this new blog. Enjoy!
